The .hu domain name is the general extension of Hungarian homepages, and like Hungary, every country has its own domain extension (cTLD: de, ch, uk...). TLDs (Top Level Domains) are general domain names that are not connected to countries. These are .com (commercial), .net (network), .org (organisation), .edu (education) and .info (information).
The registration of international domain names is automatic, so the registration can be done in one day.
Unfortunately, getting a .hu domain is more comlicated:
There are priority:
Your order has priority if it is the same as the name of your company.
For example in case of table.hu domain nama Table Co. and Table Ltd. have priority.
The duration of registering a domain with priority is max. 4 days.

and there are domain names with no priority:
All other domain names are in this category. In this case the domain name is displayed to the public on a two week long waiting list. If someone has priority to the domain you chose, he/she may send in his/her order and then you have to choose another domain name.
The duration of registering a domain without priority is max. 16 days.

The co.hu, 2000.hu, erotika.hu, jogasz.hu, sex.hu, video.hu, info.hu, agrar.hu, film.hu, konyvelo.hu, shop.hu, org.hu, bolt.hu, forum.hu, lakas.hu, suli.hu, priv.hu, casino.hu, games.hu, media.hu, szex.hu, sport.hu, city.hu, hotel.hu, news.hu, tozsde.hu, tm.hu, erotica.hu, ingatlan.hu, reklam.hu, utazas.hu domain names are so called secondary domain names that you can buy as well. Ordering such domain takes generally 3 days as these names are not published on the waiting list.

We are entitled to ask for the neccessary signatures for your entitlement of the domain name in some cases before sending in the request!
Only companies and individuals within the EU can register .hu domain names. The administrative contact must have a valid Hungarian address. If you do not have a Hungarian address, please select this option on the online order form and do not change the text in the admin fields.
The price of a .hu domain name registration is 18 EURO for 2 years with DNS service. After the first two years, you have to pay 13 EURO a year for domain maintance and DNS service. We transfer your domain name for free (one year extension must be paid)! Just fill out our domain order form.
Transfer is done generally within 2 days. The above information and prices are valid for domain with apostrophies as well!
