The .hu domain name is the general extension of Hungarian homepages, and like Hungary, every country has its own domain extension (ccTLD: de, ch, uk...). gTLDs (Generic Top Level Domains) are general domain names that are not connected to countries. These are .com (commercial), .net (network), .org (organisation), .edu (education) and .info (information).

Unfortunately, getting a .hu domain is more complicated:
You need to fill out a domain order form and send it back to us signed.
We will start the registration with the information you have provided on the form. The registration takes 1-2 business days after which your domain name becomes active and can be used.
After activation, the domain is listed on a public list where anyone can send in complaint about the domain name for 8 days. After this period is over, the domain is registered to you.
Note that local presence (Hungarian address for the administration contact and EU address for the owner) is required. If you can not fulfill the local requirements, we will provide this service free for you.

Ordering such domain takes also 1-2 business days.

The price of a .hu domain name registration is 3 000 HUF+VAT for 2 years with DNS service. After the first two years, you have to pay 2 000 HUF+VAT a year for domain maintenance and DNS service. Transfer your domain name to us for only 2 700 HUF+VAT and get one year renewal for free! Just fill out our domain order form.
Transfer is done generally within 1-2 business days. The above information and prices are valid for domain with apostrophies (IDN = internationalized domain name) as well!
